anyone actually try the breathwork/nervous system approach this guy describes?

so i fell down a reddit hole last night and found this post and can't tell if it's legit or just placebo dressed up nicely:

https://old.reddit.com/r/Hyperhidrosis/comments/1t3y547/i_mightve_found_a_way_to_stop_hyperhidrosis/

tl;dr of it (read the whole thing tho): op claims they basically calmed their sweating way down by working on nervous system regulation — breathwork, vagus nerve stuff, addressing chronic stress, etc. not a cure-all but a real shift for them.

my honest reaction was split:

  • part of me: yeah ok, my sweating does spike with anxiety, of course calming down helps a little
  • other part: i've sweat through a shirt sitting alone in a 68 degree office doing literally nothing stressful. so calling it "just stress" feels like the same dismissal we've all heard from doctors

but i don't want to be the cynical guy who writes off something that might actually move the needle. i've done glyco wipes, strong antiperspirants, the clothing rotation, the backup shirt in the car — all helpful, none life-changing. underarms/back/groin all severe, so i'm not exactly out of motivation to try things.

so genuinely curious from this group:

  • has anyone tried a real, consistent nervous system / breathwork practice for a few months and seen sweat changes? not "i felt calmer" — actual less sweat
  • if yes, what were you actually doing daily? (specific please, "mindfulness" is too vague for me to copy)
  • did it help baseline sweat or just the anxiety-spike sweat?
  • and if you tried it and it did nothing, say that too. i'd rather hear the flops than only success stories

not looking to replace anything that's working for people, just trying to figure out if this is worth a 60-day experiment or if i'm about to waste two months breathing funny in my apartment.
